NEWFOUNDLAND-ISH is a 13-track album of traditional songs, mostly written by Newfoundlanders but with Irish, Scottish and English classics included (hence, the "ish"). With this album, Asetha honors the songwriters that contribute to a capturing deep Atlantic heritage and legacy. You can find such Newfoundland standards as "The Little Boats of Newfoundland", "Joe Batt's Arm Longliners" and "Northern Lights of Labrador". From across the pond are such classics as "Nancy Spain" and "The Fields of Athenry". To contribute her own piece of local culture, Asetha included a reimagined version of her own song, "The Capelin Ain't Rollin' in Holyrood Yet."
The gorgeous production, instrumentation and sound for Newfoundland-ish was provided by the legendary Dave Fitz (The Fables). Mark Hiscock (Shanneyganock), Newfoundland's gentleman of the accordion, who contributed his genius to the album shortly before his tragic passing in 2025. Helping to finish the album, with broken heart, was Newfoundland's gifted Aaron Collis (Rum Ragged).
